The Bachelor of Computer Engineering Program at Universitas Muhammadiyah Lamongan (UMLA) continues to demonstrate its commitment to preparing students for the challenges of the digital era. One of the concrete steps taken was through a collaboration with G Media Yogyakarta in a session titled “Technology Applications in the Industry 5.0 Era”.

The event, held earlier this week, was attended by all Computer Engineering students at UMLA and received an enthusiastic response. Students were introduced to the latest technological developments that serve as the backbone of Industry 5.0, such as Internet of Things (IoT), microcontrollers, network computing, and intelligent systems. The material presented was not only theoretical but was also directly linked to real-world applications in the industry.

The Head of the Computer Engineering Program at UMLA, Mufti Ari Bianto, M.Kom., stated that this activity was a tangible example of synergy between academia and industry. “Students should not only learn in the classroom but also understand how technology is truly applied in the workplace. Through this collaboration, they can see opportunities, challenges, and technology trends that are rapidly evolving in the Industry 5.0 era,” he explained.

In addition to the presentation, the event also featured an interactive discussion session between students and practitioners from G Media Yogyakarta. During the session, students had the opportunity to ask questions about field experiences, the industry’s needs for technology talents, and tips on how to prepare themselves to compete in the workforce.

The coordinator from G Media Yogyakarta also expressed appreciation for UMLA’s Computer Engineering students, who actively engaged in discussions and showed a strong commitment to continuous learning. “We see great potential in UMLA students to contribute to the technology industry in the future. The knowledge they gain on campus, combined with practical experience, will be a valuable asset,” he remarked.

Through this collaboration, UMLA’s Computer Engineering Program hopes its students will gain a more comprehensive understanding of the challenges and opportunities of Industry 5.0. The program remains committed to expanding its partnerships with industry players so students can gain real-world experience and be well-prepared to compete nationally and globally.
