Lamongan, July 22, 2025 — The Computer Engineering Student Association (HIMAKOM) of Universitas Muhammadiyah Lamongan (UMLA) successfully held a seminar titled “Unlocking the Potential of EEG as a Revolutionary Technology for the Future of Industry” on Tuesday (22/7) at the 3rd floor Budi Utomo Hall, UMLA.

This event aimed to broaden students' insights into current technological developments, particularly the use of sensors such as EEG (Electroencephalogram) integrated with IoT (Internet of Things) in both medical and industrial sectors.

The seminar featured guest speaker Siti Dwi Suryani, S.Kom., M.T., a young researcher from the medical technology division at ITS, who specializes in medical sensors such as EEG. These sensors are widely used to record brain activity and are now showing promising opportunities for integration with IoT to support healthcare services and enhance efficiency in the industrial sector.

“EEG, which has long been known in the medical field, also holds significant potential in the industrial sector, especially when combined with IoT technology. This collaboration enables wireless device control, real-time monitoring of users’ mental conditions, and even helps prevent work-related fatigue that may pose safety risks,” said Siti Dwi Suryani.

The seminar was highly interactive and received enthusiastic participation, especially from Computer Engineering students who recognized the vast career potential in sensor-based technology. Through this event, UMLA—particularly the Computer Engineering Student Association—reaffirmed its commitment to continuous innovation and becoming a pioneer in bridging theoretical knowledge with real-world applications in the era of Industry 4.0.
